The beginning · Harare, 1992

Born in Harare on 22 November 1982, Wicknell Chivayo's beginnings were modest. As a teenager in the late 1990s he worked as a wages clerk — long hours, narrow margins, an outsized appetite for what came next.

Those early years shaped the discipline behind the legend: relentless networking, an instinct for partnership, and the conviction that wealth is a tool — not a trophy.

"I built this from nothing. My duty is to make sure others don't have to."
The Empire

A business built across six sectors.

Through flagships such as Intratrek Zimbabwe and IMC Communications, Sir Wicknell has anchored landmark national projects — most notably the Gwanda Solar Project — and built relationships with leaders and investors across the African continent.

Philanthropy

A culture of giving, openly.

Sir Wicknell's generosity is not quiet. It is intentionally public — a deliberate signal that excellence should be celebrated, that talent should be rewarded, and that wealth held privately is wealth wasted.

Family

A family-oriented man.

Behind the headlines and the hand-overs is a husband and father who places family at the very centre of his world. Sir Wicknell speaks often, and openly, of his wife as his anchor — and of the joy of raising children who will inherit not only a name, but a standard.

Faith & Spirituality

A devout son of Johane Masowe Chishanu.

Beyond the boardrooms and motorcades, Sir Wicknell is, first and foremost, a deeply spiritual man. He is a proud and faithful member of the Johane Masowe Chishanu Church — an indigenous African apostolic movement — and credits prayer, fasting and the counsel of its elders for every door that has opened in his life.

The white garments, the wooden staffs, the bare feet on consecrated ground — for Sir Wicknell, this is not ceremony, it is identity. He regularly hosts congregations of Madzibaba and Madzimai at his offices, seeking blessing before every major venture, and channels substantial resources back into the church and its communities.
